What do you do when you identify something as a problem? You want to solve it. At least this seems to be Elon Musk’s approach.

CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX evidently had really been frustrated by traffic, so he decided to build tunnels.

In late December, he tweeted: “Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging…” He went on to say he’d start a company called “The Boring Company” that would work on rebuilding infrastructure.

At the same time that he posted these tweets in December, his biography got updated with “Tunnels” that now stands alongside Tesla, SpaceX and OpenAI.

And Musk seems to be serious about it. Today he tweeted: “Exciting progress on the tunnel front. Plan to start digging in a month or so.”

In response to a follower who asked where the tunnel will be, Musk said: “Starting across from my desk at SpaceX. Crenshaw and the 105 Freeway, which is 5 mins from LAX.”
