Tesla makes 5,000 Model 3 cars in a week – report

Tesla Inc. reached its goal of making 5,000 Model 3 cars in a week, according to media reports citing people familiar with the matter. Sources claim CEO Elon Musk sent Tesla’s employees a memo confirming the figure, with some workers posting about the milestone on social media, the Wall Street Journal wrote.

An email leaked in April showed Musk set a production goal of 6,000 vehicles by the end of June, but the entrepreneur later said Tesla will “quite likely” make 5,000 cars per week in the company’s annual shareholder meeting. The automaker was reportedly slowed down by delays and manufacturing problems, with Musk urging employees to make “radical improvements” in order to meet the quota.
