Tech and camera company Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel (pictured center) stated on Monday that his company has a competitive advantage in the long run when commenting on Facebook’s relatively new story features that mirror SnapChat. During an interview with CNBC, the tech chief noted that “the innovators win in the long run.”
“I think usually when the innovators win is when a really big platform shift happens, which is why we’re investing so heavily in things like augmented reality,” stated Spiegel. Snap CEO also added that his company is developing in step with the time and believes “that computing’s going to be overlaid on the world around you” in the next 20 to 30 years.
SnapChat app was the first of its kind that introduced Story feature that allowed users to post either pictures or videos for a limited amount of time of 24 hours. However, after Facebook introduced similar features on its web platform and on Instagram, Snap redesigned some of its original content. Yet, the overhaul didn’t go so well with users.
