SpaceX launches 10th rocket this year

Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX launched on Tuesday its tenth rocket this year. The Falcon 9 rocket was sent up on a dual mission, carrying two NASA GRACE-FO satellites to track the movement of water on Earth, as well as five NEXT-6 satellites for telecoms company Iridium Communications Inc.

The company announced it will not attempt to recover Falcon 9’s first stage after launch, as it is phasing out old models after equipping its rockets with a booster dubbed Block 5. The upgrade should allow for “at least 100 flights before being retired,” as Musk stated.
