Snap, Inc. is planning a release of the second version of its Spectacles, video-capturing sunglasses synced with Snapchat, according to a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) document published on Wednesday.
The document indicates a presence of 802.11ac Wifi standard as well as 5G wireless technology. The product in the filing is labeled “wearable video camera, 002.”
In September 2016, Snap first announced the release of the first model of Spectacles. However, the company lost almost $40 million on more than 300,000 unsold units. Recently, the social media platform said it cut 7% of its workforce worldwide.
