Salesforce.com, Inc. signed a definitive agreement to buy the integration software firm MuleSoft, the cloud computing company said in a statement. The acquisition is said to be valued at approximately $6.5 billion. Salesforce offered $36 in cash and 0.0711 of its own shares for each MuleSoft share.
“Together, Salesforce and MuleSoft will enable customers to connect all of the information throughout their enterprise across all public and private clouds and data sources – radically enhancing innovation,” Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff stated.
Following the news, shares of MuleSoft soared over 27% at market close. Meanwhile, Salesforce rose 0.11%.
