Mike Pence took an oath of office on Friday to officially become the Vice President of the United States of America, TeleTrader News reported. The swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump will follow shortly.

The oath was administered to Pence by Justice Thomas of the US Supreme Court. Before Trump takes his oath, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will perform.

Pence was the Governor of Indiana until recently. He took over the office of vice president from Joe Biden. The vice president is first in line of succession to the US presidency.
