Members of the United States Congress started looking into the relationship between Google and Chinese company Huawei Technologies Co., Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday citing sources close to the matter.
According to the report, some Congressmen intend to protest Google’s decision to maintain its partnership with Huawei. They are particularly opposed to the decision since Google recently chose not to prolong its contract with the US Department of Defense, which is set to expire in March next year.
Earlier this week, Congress raised concerns over Facebook sharing data with Huawei and a number of other Chinese companies, claiming such a move posed a risk to national security. Facebook officials responded by vowing to end its partnership with the Chinese firm by the end of the week.
