Amazon founder Jeff Bezos‘ Blue Origin conducted its first test flight of 2018 as it launched the New Shepard rocket from its Texas facility on Sunday.
The rocket launched today carried a space capsule with a dummy and scientific experiments. The launch marks New Shepard’s eighth flight and its first since December 2017.
Earlier, Bezos said that the “most important thing” he is currently working on is enabling space travel. Blue Origin CEO Bob Smith told CNBC earlier that he hopes the company will be sending tourists to space before the end of the year.
