Apple Inc. presented iOS 12, its latest software for the iPhone and iPad, at its Worldwide Developer Conference in San Jose, California on Monday. The tech giant said the new operating system will be released in the autumn.
The update will be available for free to all iPhone and iPad users and will support all models since the iPhone 5S. The company claimed the new operating system will improve the performance of older devices. According to Apple, the new software’s app launch will be up two times faster than on its predecessor iOS 11, while the camera speed will increase by up to 70%.
iOS 12 will also include a new file format created for augmented reality called USDZ, as well as a new app, MeasureKit, designed to educate users about augmented reality.
