Amazon unveiled on Wednesday Amazon Cloud Cam, an Alexa-compatible security camera. The device will start shipping in November in the United States.
“Cloud Cam has all the features you need to monitor your home, including a 1080p Full HD camera, night vision, two-way audio, and free storage for clips—and with the secure AWS cloud powering Cloud Cam’s advanced computer algorithms and intelligent alerts, the service is always getting smarter,” said Charlie Tritschler, the Amazon Devices vice president.
The security camera also works with the company’s new smart lock service, Amazon Key, which is available to Prime members. Combined with the Cloud Cam, Amazon Key allows users to safely receive deliveries or let guests in even when they are not home. Namely, users can receive notifications about every stage of the delivery via the Amazon Key App and can watch the delivery driver enter their home after the service verifies the entry request. The customers can either view the video, filmed by the Cloud Cam, as it happens or see the recording later.
