Amazon.com, Inc. launched on Monday its third 36-hour even known as Prime Day, offering deals to customers subscribing to its Prime membership. However, as many as tens of thousands of users ran into problems when trying to buy products from the online retailer. Errors were reported both on the website and the mobile app, ranging from broken links to unresponsive pages.
The company issued a statement on its Twitter account. “Some customers are having difficulty shopping, and we’re working to resolve this issue quickly. Many are shopping successfully – in the first hour of Prime Day in the US, customers have ordered more items compared to the first hour last year,” it said. Amazon is hoping for a revenue of $1.6 billion.
